IT 408 - Database Design & Development (SQL) The development of efficient and quality database applications requires an understanding of the fundamentals of database management systems, techniques for the design of databases and principles of database administration. This course introduces the DBMS concepts and database design techniques and principles. The emphasis is on the conceptual database design as well as implementation details. Database security is also a key aspect of this course. Major topics include data modeling, normalization, SQL, database integrity management, database security, transaction management, recovery, troubleshooting and concurrency control.
