IT 462 - Securing Cyber Physical Systems This course will introduce students to cyber physical systems, including power systems, transportation systems, Internet of Things technologies, and other physical control-based systems. Students will gain an understanding of design, defense, and assessment of cyber physical systems.
Credit(s): 3
Prerequisite(s): IT 417 .
Outcomes
- Demonstrate basic wiring and basic functional electronic circuitry.
- Apply engineering control theory and programming logic to control a series of increasingly complex systems.
- Articulate the unique challenges of securing embedded and industrial systems that separate them from conventional IT security.
- Explain key terms and concepts in electronics, ICS risk management, control systems, and cyber physical security standards.
- Identify attack, defense, and mitigation techniques for ICS systems and how legacy systems play a role in cyber physical security.
