IT 538 - Cyber Physical Systems This course will introduce students to cyber physical systems, including power systems, transportation systems, Internet of Things technologies, and other physical control-based systems. Students will gain an understanding of design, defense and assessment of cyber physical systems. NIST Frameworks for cyber-physical systems will be reviewed.
Credit(s): 3
Prerequisite(s): IT 510 or IT 417 .
Outcomes
- Interpret the relationship between cyber-physical systems and cybersecurity
- Classify cyber-physical systems concepts, terms, and attack history
- Define cyber-physical attack and defense approaches
- Create programmable logic controller code with engineering control methods
- Secure embedded systems or cyber-physical systems
- Classify control systems: components, challenges, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques
- Demonstrate fundamental electronic concepts
- Explore key engineering control methods in cyber-physical systems
- Elaborate on cyber-physical attack and defense approaches
