BTC 500 - Operations Management & Process Efficiency


Modern businesses rely on efficient and effective processes. All organizations employ some version of process development, maturity, and continuous improvement. This course explores process creation, efficiencies, and continuous improvement strategies. Supply chain impacts on processes will be explored as it pertains to process sustainability.

Prerequisite(s):
MBA 502 or MGT 600  or (MGT 303  and QM 301 ).

Outcomes
  • Explain the fundamental principles of Operations Management.
  • Optimize processes using continuous improvement techniques (DMAIC).
  • Apply operations management principles, including planning control techniques, to realize gains in efficiency.
  • Make data-driven decisions based upon performance metric evaluations.
